Police Raid, or Armed Robbery?

The question is : is that foul mouthed thug at the door some kind of cop, or an armed invader?

These days it might be hard to tell the difference… I kind of like the old days when they used to do things like “Police, Open up” and had a piece of paper, called a search warrant” , but it would appear that  those day are past… Tom Lyons, at the Sarasota Herald Tribune did a very good piece on it in the Friday Edition..

The foul mouthed thug, saying things like “we are the F******* Police”, “Open the F*&*(& door” turned out to be a Deputy U.S. Marshal with the Fugitive division by the name of  Matt Wiggins.   Wiggins would later tell Tom Lyons that he had a reasonable belief that they were harboring a fugitive based on their actions, which consisted of looking out her windows to see a strange man with a weapon pointed at her, screaming in terror, ducking down behind the counter, and going for a weapon so that she could defend her home against intruders.   They were looking, based on a tip that the fugitive was in that building, for one Kyle Riley wanted in connection with a witness tampering charge and incest..  He was wanted for a capital sexual battery…  Basically   he was a sex offender, once proven guilty in a court of law, while the only violent criminal element seemed to be the people searching for him.

As for the Deputies statement that she should not have gone to the press?  This is one more reason why we should have a free press, so that the egregious violations of our rights will not be swept under the rug….

Ex SSgt in Air Force Security Police... I had 10 years of active duty and inactive reserve. I have a total of 20 years, includes Air Force SP, security experience. I also worked 8 years and 4 months in the Garden Center of the Sarasota Cattleman Walmart. I also took the CCNA class at Sarasota Vo-Tech, when it was still called that. I am now, since 2010 a caregiver for my Mother. While I am now a registered Republican I am more likely to vote for whichever person I believe will do a better job.. In the last presidential elections I voted Libertarian, as I the two main choices seemed to be between lying crook, or an uncouth babler who could not be trusted.
