Florida Teacher Says No to Bible During ‘Free Reading’ Time

Florida Teacher Says No to Bible During ‘Free Reading’ Time.

While I am not a great exponent of Religions in the Schools, look at the trouble they have with just figuring out how to teach MATH and then tell me what they would do to the Bible, but if the school policy is that the students have a period of FREE reading they they should be able to read what interest them..  such as the Bible..

To allow a teacher to say that you can not read this material in my class, assuming she is not talking about pornographic material, is a step toward censorship…

What if the teacher were a Conservative who said the student could not read liberal newspapers or magazines in his/her class?  It would result in a media outcry from the liberals, and would be on their front pages.

Maybe she just doesn’t want her students to read the morality lessons often given in the Bible…?

Thanks,

That Joe Guy.

Ex SSgt in Air Force Security Police... I had 10 years of active duty and inactive reserve. I have a total of 20 years, includes Air Force SP, security experience. I also worked 8 years and 4 months in the Garden Center of the Sarasota Cattleman Walmart. I also took the CCNA class at Sarasota Vo-Tech, when it was still called that. I am now, since 2010 a caregiver for my Mother. While I am now a registered Republican I am more likely to vote for whichever person I believe will do a better job.. In the last presidential elections I voted Libertarian, as I the two main choices seemed to be between lying crook, or an uncouth babler who could not be trusted.

  1. WOW! Freedom of speech took a real hit in nthat classroom. One of the reasons we have such poor studen ts at the early education levels is that there is no moral imperative. Banning prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, etc., shows that we have lost our moral center. How important is that? Just ask the Founding Fathers, who believe it is the reason for this countriy’s existence… so far.
