Don’t Dump on Trump just to Dump on him.

About a month, or so, ago I recently received a Jury summons from the Federal Courts..  The nice thing about modern Technology is that I can go online to register, and get an exemption, so I don’t have to wonder if the post office delivered my paperwork..  Nice.

After I had finished with that I was looking around at the FAQs and found an interesting link..   Judging an Injustice: During Asian Heritage Month, Japanese Internments Are Recalled | United States Courts

This article made me think about several different, though maybe the same, things.

First I understand that the United States of America is NOT a PERFECT COUNTRY.  Yes, we have wronged other people in the past, and sometimes we still do, though we usually try, in out own way, to do what is right..  If you want to think about this then consider the number of countries who offered aid when Katrina hit New Orleans, or even the countries who decided to aid us when we were moving in to save the nation of Kuwait from the Saddam Hussein.  Could other countries say the same, like Russia?

The main idea, from the linked article, I took away from this is:  for whatever reason we do it, whether it is the Japanese, Muslim, Native Americans, or any other people, grouping many people into one discriminatory label is NOT RIGHT.

The people who made who had the Japanese moved into camps were NOT RIGHT, and as the article says. the opinion from the military that the Japanese were NOT A THREAT was ignored.  I had even seen a story, I think it was from the History Channel people, that said the military commander for the Hawaiian Islands refused to round-up the effected people in his area of command.

The Federal Government is like a very large circus, I DO NOT MEAN TO INSULT THE CIRCUS, with different acts going in different rings, and the President/Ringmaster is supposed to make sure all runs as smoothly as if it were organized.

Each President who gets into that position comes with his own ideas about how things are supposed to work, and tries to implement his own ideas…  Most of them have spent time in the Military, so the have an idea about organizational structures and discipline, while others have been in some kind of public office, which gives them the same type of training but, they all learn that even though they are the ones in charge, and responsible for the way their underlings function, they still have limits that are imposed on them by others..  The Congress makes the rules and budget, the Executive carries them out.

To be fair to the Donald I would have to point out that he has acted, as the head of a commercial organization, as the person with the final word.  Much like the present Governor of Florida, Rick Scott, Donald’s experience is with the ability to make the rules that he saw fit to make,  once he got into the White House he found that much of what he knew before was fairly useless..

Maybe he did not do so well in his Civics Class.. Or doesn’t really understand the setup of the constitution..  I don’t know.  What I do know is that Trump was a blustery blowhard before he got into the White House, and on his campaign trail,  and so it should come to no surprise that he has continued to be so in the White House.

There is much that he does as the President that is worth a critical look.  The outright travel ban on some Muslims, his dubious relations with the Russians, and his attempt at what appears to be an effort to cover up or hide those relations, and his efforts to control, or intimidate his own Justice Department.

Then again when it came to his firing of FBI Director Jame Comey you have an example of the Democrats desire to “have their cake and eat it too” when, after the President fired Comey Chuck Shumer criticized Trump for doing the very thing Chuck had been calling for several weeks before.

After the Charlottesville riot Trump had a press conference where he spoke of the violence from both sides, and he was attacked in the press because he did not concentrate his remarks on the Alt-right groups.  Extremist who espouse violence go against the very principle that make this country great and it does not matter which groups they represent, right or left.

Pure politics does not help this the people.  Party politics, when pushed to the max, does not help and is probably the main reason that Donald Trump is now President Trump.

If your are going to find something wrong with President Trump do it because he has done something wrong and not just because he is in a different party..

P. S.  I saw a video of Michael Moore who asked a question…  If they do find collusion with the Russians, and Trump is Impeached..  if they put him up for trial “do we try him as an adult?”

That Joe Guy.

When is Collusion not Collusion..?

When it comes to the meeting, in Trump Tower, with Kushner, Donald Jr, and the other guy with the Russians there are several things to consider….

Merriam-Webster defines Collusion as:  secret agreement or cooperation especially for an illegal or deceitful purpose acting incollusion with the enemy

Let’s look at the “agreement or cooperation” aspect of this.  Yes, there does not seem to have been any collusion but, that was only because the Russians did not have the material the Trump representatives wanted, information on Hillary Clinton.  I see that as like if you went to buy drugs and were told “we don’t have any drugs for you but, how about some really nice caviar?”.

It is true that it was not a secret, after all it was reported by the press, only because it was reported by the press.  I would go so far as to say that, when the press reported the meeting, the did the Trump group and unintentional favor..  Favor you ask?  Of course.

I will explain it this way.  When I was in the Air Force, mid 70s to 84, one of the little film they showed us, it was for people who had contact with classified information, was about a young Airman who worked in his bases headquarters.  One night he was in a bar and met a stranger.  The two shared drink and the stranger found out, he problably already knew, that the Airman worked in Headquarters, and the two started to talk about some unclassified program that were going on.  The stranger was interested in one of these programs, I think it was supposed to deal with things the Air Force was trying to do in the community near the base.  The two agreed to meet the next day.  The Airman would bring the brochures in an envolope and the stranger would bring him some information about his company.  The two met the next night.

The Airman, not thinking it was important, did not report the contact with the stranger.  Sometime later the two would see each other at the bar, and the stranger would pull him over to ask about information of a classified matter.  The Airman would say he could not talk about things like that.  The stranger would explain that it was too late, and he would show the Airman photos that had been taken of the two of them exchanging envelopes.

For the Airman this was a problem.  He had not followed regulations which stated he was supposed to report that contact, and it now looked like he had given them information for money.

Now, getting back to the Trump meeting.  Had the press not reported the meeting the Trump team would have been in the same position as the young Airman.  It would look like they had exchanged something for information on Clinton, even though no real exchange had taken place.  Further, in this last scenario, their problem would for Kushner and Don Jr to prove what really happened in that room….  I find it hard to believe the Russians would offer such information about H. Clinton without wanting something in return.  The question would be : did they get anything other than the possibiity of a later blackmail?

Things like this just point out the lack of judgement exhibited by the Trump group, which comes from a lack of descretion.

The next 3 1/2 years will most likely result in more incidents such as this.

That Joe Guy.

Can this be more than just a hobby? Maybe..

The blog is just as I have stated in the title..  My View.

I don’t, as a few other sites I have seen, spend most of my time trying to find other people’s news and reporting it under my name.  I will find ideas that are of interest to me and maybe put links to sites that may tell it better than I can, or just for reference.

So far I have not, in either blog (thatjoeguy.com or her myviewbyjoe.com) posted story from another site under my name with little “if you want to read more click here” button…  I am opinionated enough with out having to steal someone else’s writing.

I harbor no illusion that I know everything and so all I can ask is that you think about what I write, and maybe even let me know what you believe.

For those of you who have looked at one site, or the other, you know that I have covered a number of topics and usually attempt to put some kink of humorous spin on them.

I may just be writing this for myself but hope you, the readers, will take enough of an interest to comment.

Thanks,

That Joe Guy.

I have been away.. but I am back, for now..

I have not posted anything for a number of months.  It started near the end of last years election cycle when I really came to understand that I did not like either of the two candidates.  The choices seemed to be between the guy on the right who gave off bilious gasses from both ends, and the woman who bragged about her failures and who’s best achievement stemmed from the fact that she, along with her husband, has been able to avoid going to jail.

During this period I started a number of articles, I will try to get back to them, that I was not really sure how to present.  Each time I started on one of them, such as one I started to do about Medical Quackery, reinforced the understanding that much of what we believe comes from our perception of what it is…

Take the one I was going to call “Why I love the Internet”.  In this article I was going to point out that with the ability to search the internet for information a searcher could find more than one way of looking at almost any idea.

Take the idea of the Religious Trinity..  The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.  Some will point to sections of the bible and explain that they are all three aspects of the Father, while others might point to the same section and explain that they are all separate and say that the other idea, that they are all the same entity, makes no sense.

In the Medical world there seems to be an argument that MMR vaccines cause autism.   The anti-vaccine people will point to studies that, they say, proves that Autism is caused by the MMR vaccines, and that the Center for Disease Control  and Prevention(CDC) had been outed as having fixed it’s studies to show that there was no connection between the two.  The other camp, which is sometimes called Mainstream Medicine, will tell you about the CDC studies that prove there is no connection and will even go so far as to tell you that the studies, by the Anti-vaccine group, have been refuted numerous times and they they still bring them up.

Andrew Wakefield so called god father of the Anti-Vaccine movement

Andrew Wakefield is a name that often comes up in these discussions.  It was from a study he did, along with 6 or 7 other researchers, that lead to the assertions of Autism being connected to the MMR Vaccines.  The study, published in the British medical journal the Lancet, would later have his fellow researchers ask to have their names removed from the paper, after his press conference that explained the connection, a connection his fellow researcher stated was not contained the their results of the study.  The Lancet would retract the story, and the British Medical establishment would take his Doctor’s licence away after charging him with a number of ethics violations, such as abusing the 12 people he used in his study and lieing about his work being approved by an ethics panel, or the medical community that took away his credentials and struck him from the Physician list in Britain.

My point here is that we often form our opinions of this based on the way we look at things.

For my last item to think about is this.  In the United States we had a series of mass shootings.  Some people saw this as a call to get firearms away from the public, others saw this as a demonstration that the police can not protect the public and that they have a right to buy more firearms they can then use to defend themselves.  It is a situation where you have to ask : do we work on the symptoms, or the cause, of this violence…

I plan to get back into a routine of articles.  Hopefully you will think about what I say.  I don’t believe I will change anyone’s mind, but maybe the readers will consider what I put forth, and make up your own mind.

These are, as the title says “How I see the world”.

Thanks,

Toxic Growth?

In Southwest Florida the challenge seems to be in limiting the growth to what can be sustained by infrastructure.  More and more we hear about large developments being planned  but, where are the plans to expand the water supplies, the road networks, the school system or even jobs for the newcomers?

We have to trust that out elected representative will be there to control this growth, and keep it at a manageable level.

Then there is, as the real-estate people say, location, location, location, which of course means where they build.  In the area near where I live the question has come up about Toxic materials in the ground that were left over from landfills.  This is the in area of the old Foxfire Golf course, where Medallion Homes will be building the Waverley subdivision.

Medallion Homes is owned by Carlos Beruff, who is running for the Senate, and who was appointed to the SouthWest Water Management District by, I believe Charlie Crist, and then, some time later, resigned from that with his last official act being to OK the plans by one of his fellow developers, even though, as reports say, various boards recommended against it.

He has also had problems with Chinese Drywall which was put into a large portion of the homes he build…  The Rip Off Report has this to say.  When the question came up about remediation he said the cost would break the company, and refused to do it..  The Sarasota Herald Tribune has this to say.

To further muddy the waters the area they are building on, at the future Waverley site has a number of unlined landfills, which the county would rather not test, even though there have been indication that toxic chemicals, may be able to spread in the water table..

If you are curious about this, and want to know just what the fuss is all about, then you should go to the Foxfire West site and see what they have to say.  From where I am sitting it looks to me that the developers are winning and the people getting sick, both of it and from it.

Now I have singled out Carlos Beruff but, I am sure he is not the only one who gets away with pulling tricks.  Like developers who lay waste to wetlands but to stick more houses into an area.

Thank,

That Joe Guy.
